Pick the (possible) problem with this sentence:

"25 Australians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day, impacting all aspects of a person's life."

(Spotted on a fundraiser page for Parkinsons Victoria. Peter Raymond is fundraising for the Unity Walk in August, which he'll be joining.)

You'd think that after the first diagnosis they wouldn't need to keep diagnosing those same 25. Also: who is this person whose life is impacted upon by all these diagnoses?

Hadn't even thought of those points.

When I read "25 Australians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day, impacting all aspects of a person's life", I immediately thought "well, if the diagnosis is affecting all areas of a person's life, just stop doing diagnosis, then!"

Although I guess it's possible that the disease itself might have an impact, too – not just the getting diagnosed bit...
