What has society come to? An anecdote.

We went to see a production of Twelfth Night on Saturday. It was very well performed, the weather was fine and we sat overlooking the vines (it was at Wild Dog Winery in Warragul).

At the end, I looked behind us an saw that a row of big citronella bamboo torches had been lit along the fence line. A girl next to us (about 11 or 12) saw them too, and said to her mum "look - they've got those candles from Survivor!"...

The Bard meets reality television - oh dear. An amusing, if somewhat sad, end to our evening.
