Max Headroom: Satisfaction

Community radio is not for everyone; it may even be called crap, but it plays an important role. Because stations like RRR cater to subscribers rather than advertisers, they don't have to chase ratings and as a result can afford to take risks. (Somewhat similarly, The Hartwell Players can afford to run some shows that provide challenging opportunities for actors and directors, even if they make a loss.)

RRR's Max Headroom show, which is reserved for "live-to-air replays, interviews, specials and program features" has just spent almost an hour playing covers of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones. Of course, you wouldn't want more than an hour - it can be a little repetitive. But there was a surprising amount of variety in this musical vertical tasting. Some very different genres in the mix. There was also a little montage of versions they didn't have time to play - apparently there are about 39 known covers of the song...
