Email etiquette

What is the etiquette here? If someone forwards to you (and a dozen others) a humour piece (in this case, the Declaration of Revocation), do you just accept that a PDF of a scan is the best vehicle for delivery of the joke, or do you reply with a text copy so that they have a more email-friendly version should they wish to send it to more people?

I'm guessing that that might come across and rude. And ineffective, as the they've already shared the joke and are not likely to need a text copy...
