Caravans: LP vs. CD quality

I recently replaced the soundtrack to Caravans by Mike Batt. The cassette tape was damaged, and I can't find it now anyway.

This film score is out of print and hard to get, so I got an LP/vinyl copy, as it was cheaper than a CD. Plus, the seller recorded a CD copy for me from the LP.

Some people talk about the "warmth" and superiority of vinyl. Maybe it's a matter of what you are used to. The recording is good, but to me it sounds a little muffled. Like a photo that's a tiny bit out of focus, making me want to play with the sharpening tool. Of course, not having an original CD copy, I can't really compare vinyl to CD.

In any case, I'm not enough of an audiophile to pursue analogue music. Convenience (portable music players, online downloads) will win out for me any time.

Caravan Song

The early light is breaking
The morning sun is waiting in the sky
And I think I'm gonna break away
And follow where the birds of freedom fly
I need to give
I need to live
For the world is slowly turning
And the lights of love are burning
In my eyes

Oh, my soul is on the run
I am flying
moving out into the sun
Oh, I don't know where I'm going
But I'm going
